Gorgeous antique Victorian brooch fabricated in solid 18kt yellow gold. This lovely old piece features 12 pearls and one old miner's cut diamond approx .20cts. This very well could be a mourning piece. Pearls in Victorian times symbolized tears while the flower is a stylized forget me not. The brooch weighs 5 grams. The back pin is silver for strength. Brooch measures 1 5/8" long X 3/4" at the widest point. Brooch is marked S&S, I believe for the company Saunders and Shepherds this piece dates to approx. 1880. Condition is very good to excellent.
